CENTURY TOWERS
612 Garfield
Kansas City, Missouri

Century Towers is billed as the largest single building mixed use residential / office project completed in the Kansas City Area in 2002.  The completion resulted in the transformation of the long abandoned University Hospital to the Century Towers complex.

The 508 patient rooms that occupied the upper 6 floors were converted into 224 apartments.  This conversion utilized the existing room and corridor layout, as well as existing plumbing and electrical distribution. A totally new HVAC system was developed giving each apartment individually controlled heating and cooling. Public areas were created including Lounge, Library, Workout Room, covered 5th floor exterior Arcade, and entry Lobby.

The lower 3 floors containing 250,000 square feet of space have been transformed into offices for a dozen City agencies.  This included administrative areas for the Fire Marshall, Regulated Industries, Internal Affairs, and Police Supply; training facilities for Fire and EMS; and the City's back up Emergency Operations Center.
